Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ON a "pages per pound assessment the 1986 l'ransporr Manager's Handbook compares poorly with last year's edition, which had 739 pages and cost 06.95.

The price of the new edition (the 16th) is unchanged, but the number of pages is down to 550. Missing are the final chapters on health and safety, empliyment legislation, social rental and leasing, fuel economy and computers.

Apart from these, David Lowe's book is much the same useful work of reference as before. It is an easily understood and concise guide to the mass of transport legislation. The number of amendments needed to update it since last year's edition is fairly small. The main ones cover the changes to the EEC drivers' hours rules (taking effect later this year), antispray legislation, the legalisation of reversing alarms, and regulations concerning the packaging of dangerous substances. Price is 06.95, plus 2.50 postage and packing.
