MR. S. A. FINNIS, chief docks manager, Humber Ports, British Transport Docks Division, has been appointed a member of the Yorkshire Transport Users Consultative Committee.
MR. D. J. A. DAVIES, until recently managing director of Weymanns, Ltd., has been appointed sales manager of John C. Beadle (Coachbuilders), Ltd., in succession to MR. H. G. IIrcxs, who has relinquished the position.
MR. F. A. HIBBERD, managing director of the St. Rogues Automobile Co., Ltd., Dundee, has suceeeded MR. GEORGE VALENTINE as president of the Scottish Motor Trade Association. MR. W. P. BROOMFIELD has been elected retailer vice-president.
MR. K. A. HEATHCOTE has been appointed private secretary to MR. JOHN PRopumo, Joint Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. MR. P. R. SHF.AF has been appointed private secretary to SIR GILMOUR JENKINS, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
MR. WILLIAM YouNo has been appointed general sales manager of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. MR. C. G. CHARLISH becomes trade sales manager, MR. R. P. ROCHE, equipment manager, and MR. H. J. WELTON, trade sales supervisor, Mr. Young has been with the Firestone organization in England for 34 years, during which time he has held various important sales positions.
MR. D. HALLIWELL, who recently retired from membership of the North Western Licensing Authority after 20 years' service, was given a farewell dinner in Manchester last week. The function, which was arranged by MR. J. GREEN, traffic manager of the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., was attended by road passenger transport operators and members of the legal profession. MR. F. WILLIAMSON, chairman of the Authority, presided. CLLR. S. JONES has been appointed chairman, and CLLR. L. ButmEs deputy chairman of Leigh Transport Committee.
