Police are just 'cherry picking' crimes to solve

Recently, we've seen the police "too busy to arrest" illegal immigrants, (CM 20 March), which was reported by Turners of Soham, while the managing director of Maritime Containers, John Williams, revealed it was impossible to get the police involved in the theft of two highvalue loads, At an RHA security conference, specialist units dealing with truck crime reported it was difficult to get forces to share criminal intelligence or take the matter seriously.
So what are they doing, aside from appearing arrogant and unaccountable? Certainly not dealing with domestic crime. Thefts from cars have become an administrative exercise of issuing a crime number, and local police wouldn't even turn out when my son was robbed at knife point on his way to college.
Police numbers are the highest they've ever been, and their remuneration packages are among the most generous of any sector of workers. They constantly ask for public support, yet seem to cherry pick the sections of the community they are willing or prepared to help.
