THE Commercial Vehicle Show comes too infrequently for me. I look forward to it, more than anything else, because it gives me an opportunity, first, of meeting old friends amongst hauliers whom I have either met previously, or with whom I have been corresponding, and, secondly, to make new friends amongst those to whom I have not previously written and whom I have not yet met. .
Just prior to each Show I always issue an invitation such as this, asking all hauliers to call at Stand 3 at any time, on any day, from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., except on Tuesday,
November 12, when I shall be in attendance from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., or, to make an appointment to see me. Hauliers with problems which they would like me to solve are . particularly welcome, but any haulage contractor or ancillary user with cost difficulties in mind is welcome, If only that we may have a chat on. . matters in general.
. If the time named (from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.) be not convenient, a postcard will be sufficient to ensure a meeting at practically any time convenient to the inquirer himself.
—S.T.R.
IT has been arranged with I The Commercial Motor that during the Show I shall be present at Olympia each evening from 7 p.m., and on Saturday afternoons.
I shall be prepared to give personal interviews to all classes of carrier who may require advice on any point arising from the 1933 Act. Particular problems which I have in mind are: (A) The continuation of B licences ; (B) the variation of haulage licences; (C) matters in connection with haulage businesses which change hands; (D) drivers' records and hours; (E) wages agreements.—E. H. B. PALMER.
