THE Perth area executive of the
Scottish National Farmers' Union have been told that there arc no weighbridges available between Perth and Dalmally. They are to ask the County Council about the possibility of providing weighing facilities for vehicles in the small burghs. It is understood that in Crieff efforts are being made to get the Town Council to take over the railway weighbridge there. An executive member said that the railway authorities had been approached but they would not dispose of the weighbridge because there was no possibility of the railway closing there.
Mr. A. W, Barbour, convenor of the SNFU legal, commercial and co-operative committee, commented: " This is occurring all over the country. We hope to get some sort of concession out of British Railways.
