It will be noted that Harrington coaches are omitted from the list; the company were approached for information regarding 1966 bodywork styles but were unable to furnish this in time for this review. As soon as information about new models from this company is available, it will be published in our editorial columns.
Prices quoted in this survey are the recommended prices for bodywork only and are usually for a standard body without extras; specifications may vary between one make and another.
Prices of heavy coach chassis are obtainable only on application, as so many variants are available, but it can be assumed that they cost around £3,000. Prices of the lighter chassis are as follows: Bedford VAS (petrol engine). 1:890; (diesel), £1,085; VAM 1300 petrol). £1,140: (330 diesel) £1.280; VAL. £1.890. The earlier Bedford SB chassis costs £1,065 with the 300 petrol engine and £1.205 with the 330 diesel engine.
