has acquired specialist vehicle manufacturer Gloster Saro from Hawker Siddeley for £6.8 million.
In its last financial year Gloster Sa.ro made a profit of £1.07 million on sales of £16.6 million. Gloster's products include fire crash tenders, airfield refuellers and trailers, and road tankers. Hawker Siddeley will retain Gloster Sam's Insumat division.
