rlA COMPREHENSIVE code of safety regulations covering workers in the construction industry in Great Britain will go into operation on March I next. The relevant orders are the Construction (General Provisions) Regulations, 1961, and the Construction (Lifting Operations) Regulations, 1961. The first regulation is obtainable from H.M. Stationery Office,

The regulations are designed to protect workers in the building and civil engineering industries. They impose requirements on equipment used on sites, and require the appointment of safety supervisors where more than 20 persons are employed. They include provision for the safe operation of vehicles on sites.
