• A new, firm has just been created in Chile, which will construct 60,000 lorries in the period 1973 to 1980. The pact creating this firm has just been signed in Santiago de Chile by representatives of Spain and Chile. forming the firm Corfo-Enasa. This concern has 51 per cent of the capital from Corfo and Chile. where Corfo is the CorporaciOn de Foment+) de la Produccion de Chile: the Spanish firm of Pegaso is represented by Enasa (Empresa Nacional de Autocamiones de Espana) with 49 per cent of the capital.
The investment of this concern totals 821,367m, and the initial capital will be S 19,501m. The project calls for the manufacture of 4500 trucks in 1973, and 5300 in 1974. to reach an annual production of 10.000 per year/by 1980.
Corfo-Enasa will build trucks, buses and spares; also engines for lorries, small ships and boats.
