STOCKPORT Council is to get tough with transport operators who repeatedly park theirvehicles in residential areas.
At a recent council meeting it was decided to •hit constant offenders where it hurts most — through their operators' licences.
In future, operators who use residential areas for parking purposes will receive a strong objection from Stockport Council when their 0-licence renewal applications come before the North West Licensing Authority in Manchester.
The objections, made under the Transport Act, 1968, will be on the grounds that the applicant must have a suitable centre from which to operate.
