DERV and petrol cost increases helped fuel a 10 per cent rise in transport costs last year, according to the Freight Transport Association.

According to its cost and rates report for the year to December 1981, overall costs rose by 10 per cent, compared to a 17 per cent rise the previous year, but dery prices rose by 20 per cent, and petrol by 25 per cent.
