We've been putting a second man in with the drivers to cope with the bad weather conditions. One or two of them refused to wear their seatbelt Where does the company stand?
By law, the passenger must wear a seatbelt if it is fitted. There is also an insurance issue. If there was an accident and it was noted that the passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt, any claim might be jeopardised. Health and safety law may decide that management had failed to exercise due diligence by not enforcing the wearing of a belt.
