A CHARITY SALE held by Manheim Auctions in Gloucester raised more than £5,000 for the forces charity Help for Heroes.
The most sought-after prize were the child-sized Subaru Rally overalls where two bidders went head-to-head raising the sale price to £510.
Organised by Rebecca Nicholls, the event is the first of many to help raise £40,000 for the charity and culminates in a trek to Machu Picchu in Peru in September 2011.
"Manheim has been so supportive and everyone has fully embraced everything we're doing to raise money," she says.
Another popular prize was a VIP Day with British Superbike Team AP Kawasaki, which sold for £400.
Matthew Wade, assistant auction centre manager, will also join the trek team in September 2011.
Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in 2007 and has raised more than £80m. •
