A wing assembly designed specifically for the Bedford TK cab, has been produced by Dunlop. Made from a tough rubber compound, the wing consists of two sections, a top section is attached to the hinged engine inspection panel and a separate section replaces the conventional arched wing. This has been extended 7in. deeper than the standard Bedford wing so that the necessary mud flap is in fact built-in. Operators, if they so wish, can specify that this section of the wing assembly be of standard depth and that a separate mudflap is fitted.
Advantages claimed include reduced risk of damage (because of the flexibility of both sections together with improved safety and the elimination of corrosion and the need for painting.
The wings can be specified at the time of the vehicle order, or are available as replacement items through the Accessories Division of the company, at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham.
