He received a deputation from the National Road Transport Federation. Road Haulage Association, Traders' Road Transport Association, Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association and British Road Federation.
On Monday, Mr. Boyd-Carpenter received a deputation from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Motor Agents' Association and British Cycle and Motorcycle Manufacturers and Traders Union. A reduction in vehicle purchase tax and fuel tax was sought.
