SAVINGS of up to 31 hours on existing journey times between Lancashire and Scotland will be made by new express coach services soon to be introduced by Ribble Motor Services Ltd., of Preston.
The new services will supplement the longstanding express facilities to Scotland and will make the maximum use of M6.
The Blackpool-Glasgow service will show the biggest saving-3f hours; the BlackpoolEdinburgh run will save 2-1hours. These reductions have been achieved by routeing the services over Shap instead of via Keswick and, as with the other routes, cutting out many intermediate stops.
The new Glasgow service, operated in conjunction with Western SMT Co. Ltd., will be introduced on May 27 and will run every Friday and Saturday until September 24. The Edinburgh service, run jointly with Scottish Omnibuses Ltd.. will be operated on Saturdays only from June 25 until September 3.
