peace of mind above all else, especially if they know little about vehicles. The deal here is basically the same as if you're buying new. Warranties are offered, as are finance deals and most dealers will be willing to accept your old battered van in parr-exchange.
This is also the case when people buy new vans. The smart dealerships then pass on the used vehicle to smaller independent retailers (at a small profit) who then sell it to the customer (again at a mark up). If you can interrupt this chain and buy direct from the dealership there are good deals to be had.
None of the main manufacturers has a dedicated used van scheme although some (such as Citroen and Vauxhall) will include light commercial vehicles in their car schemes provided they come up to scratch. In practice this is rare and more often than not confined to exdemo vehicles.
In the main it's up to the individual dealer whether he stocks a used van outside the official scheme.
