Automatic or semi-automatic operation of the equipment is basically the same in principle and relies upon the prepositioning of the plastics material on the welding table. When TIR covers are being produced a reel guide is used to feed the pvc tape. The standard table length is 461t (14m), which allows a working area of 42ft (13m), although this need not be a limiting factor. Employing units up to 200ft (60m) long is being considered by potential users overseas.
The equipment operates on a three-phase 50Hz, 380/440V or 200/220V electrical system and requires a compressed air supply of not less than 80 psi (6 kg/cml).
