HAULAGE JOBS could be put at risk by this week's national dock strike, the Road Haulage Association warned on Monday.
RHA director-general Freddie Plaskett was speaking after Dover Harbour workers refused to handle lorries on ferry services using the port, and left some 1,000 lorries stranded.
He wrote to the Transport and General Workers Union general secretary Moss Evans saying that the unsubsidised haulage industry would have to create redundancies among drivers if it was unable to get traffic.
