SDC produces a wide range of curtainsiders. and standard or insulated boxvan dry freight trailers. Design options include the fitting of fixed double-decks, sprung butterfly platforms, ratchet type floors or swivel deck versions.
One committed user is John Raymond Transport which has taken 40 standard UK-spec' curtainsiders whileTuffnells has just bought six 4.4m-high trailers— all to its own parcels spec'.
Another popular dry freight van is the Furoliner which can be built with 'snap-lok' aluminium extrusions, riveted alu'panels. GRP or insulated panelling.
With the promise of some fuel saving, SDC's slope-nosed curtainsider, with its fixed multidecks has its followers too. Originally developed for Scottish haulier GCN on its Palletways contract, the back-swept profile is reportedly making considerable weekly fuel savings.
