68800 Kalby, Finland. Finnish reefer specialist Ekeri builds around 600 trailers, drawbars and truck bodies a year. and 80% are exported. Of these, some 35 have been sold to UK fleets in the past five years. Both Ekeri CV Show exhibits were standard FRC trailers with fully opening sides.
Dobbs Logistics' standard version was one of four ordered but Davie Malcolm's has its rear steer axle set further back.This allows it to turn through 27' for better manoeuvrability.
Other UK customers include Mick Griffiths who has a fourth in build and Ken Oliver Transport. Ekeri is also developing a 'black box' device to monitor trailer systems:10 units are on long term trials.
