A ONE-WEEK traffic court hearing has been fixed for late June for the Scottish Traffic Commissioners to resolve a major battle for coach services between Ayrshire and central Glasgow.
Western SMT is spearheading a Scottish Bus Group bid for a share of the Glasgow commuter coach market as part of the Scotmap market analysis project for Ayrshire.
It is being opposed by Strathclyde Region which subsidises British Rail on these routes.
Western and recently-established Bennett of Kilwinning are also opposing plans by Al Service and Kerr of Galston for competing coach routes and Bennett is opposing Western's plans.
