TO THOSE who know no better, Ford is a vast American-owned monument to mammon. In fact it is also an important charitable institution, which last year gave £128,150 to help others. Its substantial community activity is being extended this year, providing further educational aids and a community minibus scheme.
The Ford of Britain Trust last year gave financial help to nearly 200 worthy causes. The company also provided transport for charity outings and town shows. Two new video films for community use dealt with first aid and the running of social and fund-raising organisations. The first-aid film won two coveted award in Britain and America.
The company aims to be a good neighbour as well as a creator of wealth and many people have cause to be grateful to it.
