SCHMITZ CARGOBULL has launched three new trailers for the UK market, all of which will be built at its Harlow, County Durham plant.
The M.K0 COOL refrigerated box unit, designed for rigids and available in 14,18 or 26-tonne guises, will be aimed at the urban food retail delivery market and features a sealed aluminium floor and steel subframe.
The side and roof of the trailer are made from the company's Ferroplast modular steel-skinned panels and are filled with polyurethane foam to aid temperature control.
Designed to operate as both a reefer
and a dry freight vehicle, the S.K0 COOL incorporates a foldable wall that opens out over 13m along the full length of the trailer.
When in reefer mode, the side panels remain sealed, with the back doors used for loading and unloading.
The S.CS curtainsider (left) has a series of metal ribs, which reinforce the sides and allow for greater rigidity.
Designed to operate in industries where large amounts of loose materials are transported — such as wood chippings in the timber trade — it reduces the bulging effect that can result from such work, and also aids driver rear visibility.
