During a. recent visit to the Leyland works, Mr. Henry Spurrier, Junr., suggested to us that we should have a look at the latest works extensions which are rapidly being completed. This company now has seven acres of ground covered with workshops. Amongst the latest plant to he put down is a new 600 h.p. National vertical gas engine, and a fine new powergas plant. Much of the new accemmodation is to be used for repair-shop organization. As usual, the shops were very full of work, and noticeable amongst the machines awaiting early delivery were several fine Leyland fire-engines. We invite further expressions of opinion from owners and users who may feel inclined to state their views on the agent question. We should be glad if correspondents would particularly confine themselves to the point of likely benefit to themselves (as users) which might arise from such appointments.
