We observe that last week's municipal engineering and surveying section of "The Sanitary Record" devotes considerable space to our recent article on the subject of "Road Efficiency." The writer
of the section, in the course of his comment, expresses the following view : " The article is written in a reasonable spirit by one who knows what he is writing about, and, alt hough, it may contain in some re
spects unpleasant truths, it is as well that surveyors ghould receive them, and see themselves as others see them."
The Harbour Point of View.
The Visiting Committee of the Dundee Harbour Trust has expressed its opinion that motor lorries are a great advantage, from the standpoints of big load capacity and rapid dispatch, for use in the conveyance of jute between the harbour and the warehouses. Such vehicles are regarded as "a boon from the harbour point of view."
An American Truck Warranty. The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers in U.S.A. has adopted a new truck warranty, which has been recommended by its executive committee. This warranty deals with wheel sizes, truck sizes, body sizes per horse-power employed, speeds per horse-power, and so ferth, Fourteen commercial motor makers, members of the association, have definitely adopted the new warranty and so have 14 makers who are not members.
