• The West Riding County Council last week issued a very comprehensive snow clearing instruction to all officials who are involved in keeping open trunk roads in the county. These roads include: in the north-west area, A59, A65, A660, A650, A629, and A658. In the north-east area, Al , A58, and A61. In the south-east area, Ml, M18, Al (M). A638, A630 and A18. In the south-west area, Ml, A628, A62, A61. A638 and A646.
Drivers using A628 should look out for closure notices on the 7-mile section between Flouch Inn and Woodhead Junction: alternative routes are via Huddersfield and Oldham, or Halifax and Todmorden.
