A system for washing commercial vehicles has been announced by the Transport Industries Division of Diversey that, it is claimed, enables vehicles to be washed in a quarter the time required when the bucket-and-brush method is employed. It is known as the Diversey Foamspray system and is easily installed.
It is coupled to a water and compressed air supply; there are no electrical connections or moving parts and virtually no maintenance is required. A special high-foam concentrate is fed to the unit direct from the drum, and automatic metering of detergent is provided which prevents any wastage and spillage.
The special chemical is expanded some four to five times during the foaming process which promotes economy and the dry foam can be applied to a large area in a few seconds. The foam clings to the vehicle surface giving the chemical more time to break down stubborn soils. After light agitation, the Foamspray unit is set to deliver a clear-water rinse which leaves the vehicle in a bright, streak-free condition.
