• Handling heavy loads such as beer kegs from side-access vehicles can be made easier using Don-bur's new moving gantry system called Lazerloda.
Designed originally with the drinks industry in mind, the remotely operated gantry fits on to the underside of the vehicle's roof, protruding less than 300nun into the load space.
It can make straight or angled lifts, has a capacity of 350kg and can be used to raise or lower items from any point inside the vehicle body. Its jib extends 550mm through the vehicle's side aperture and can run the length of the vehicle.
The Lazerloda can be retrofitted into existing vehicles and adds around 300kg to unladen weights depending on the amount of roof reinforcement needed.
It requires the same amount of electrical power as a tail-lift and is available with remote controls. Two versions will be exhibited at this year's IRTE exhibition, one on a Marston's Brewery trailer, the other on a Scania rigid demonstrator with curtain-side body work and self-supporting lmpadeck flooring.
