Shell has launched its new fuel-management product called FuelSave Partner, designed specifically for transport and fleet operators. The solution claims to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10% by monitoring data from the customer's Shell fuel card and telematics system.
Ruth Cairnie, vice president for commercial fuels at Shell, says: "We know how tight the margins can be for our transport customers, so we're always look ing at new ways to help them manage fuel costs. Shell FuelSave Partner can help deliver savings of up to 10%, but it also supports customers in monitoring fuel-related CO2 emissions in a way that makes them more manageable."
Shell says FuelSave Partner is different because it automatically links fuel card transactions with driver and vehicle data to help fleet managers manage fuel costs more effectively.
Peter Adams, from Shell Global Solutions, says "Our technology team has worked with partners IBM, Airbiquity and Continental Automotive to develop and test the telematics technology, which underpins Shell FuelSave Partner."
The web-based system is available on a subscription basis, and Shell says that no initial investment is required.
