LOW-COST vehicle security is offered by the new Scout Car alarm. Installation is simple. The alarm measures 6in. by 2.25in. by 1.5in. and it is screwed inside the engine compartment and connected to the automatic light switches on the doors via the distribution terminals.
Bonnet, boot and van doors are protected by simple contact switches also connected to the terminals and thence to the alarm.
The alarm is brought into use by a specially fitted security lock. When the driver leaves the vehicle he turns the lock with a special key. If anyone forces or opens the doors, the boot or the bonnet the alarm sounds its own piercing, intermittent, highfrequency siren which cannot be mistaken for a stuck car horn.
The alarm cannot be put out of action before its siren has sounded; it can be turned off only with the key.
