CHRISTIAN Salvesen — said to be one of the world's largest storage and distribution suppliers, and Scotland's biggest private company — is being floated as a public company on the stock exchange.
A company spokesman told CM that it was a safe assumption that there would be an expansion in transport opera, tions because of the flotation and input of new funds. At present the storage and distribution of food is the fastest expanding section of Christian Salvesen's business.
The company is raising additional money through the issue of 20m new shares, and the balance of the S'..66m being raised comes from shares 'being sold by existing shareholders. The new funds will help to fund the company's future expansion in almost all of its business areas, which include food distribution, brick making and housebuilding.
