A marked upward tendency is still noticeable in the export trade in American commercial motor vehicles. The latest figures available are those for the two months ended with Februar,y last, during which time no fewer than 20,422 vehicles, valued at £2,796,528, were exported from the United States, as against 17,833 and £2,303,247 respectively in the same months last year.

Of the total shipments, no fewer than 36,770 vehicles, or over 82 per cent., were of a carrying capacity of not more than 1 ton, 3,179 were capable of dealing with loads of between 1 ton and 24. tons, whilst only 473 vehicles were designed for loads of over 24 tons.
So for as the principal markets for American commercial vehicles are concerned, there have lately been some not able changes, inasmuch as the Argentine is now at the head of the list with a total of 2,269, followed by Sweden with 1,817, Brazil 1,541, Denmark 1,362, Belgium 765, Spain 677, and Canada 541. It is of interest to note that the proportion of exports to the total production of American commercial vehicles is steadily rising and now amounts to 34.8 per cent.
