INGRAM ELDER of Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds, is marketing its Ton-Tel single-axle weighing device which comprises a platform and an electronic display/control box.
The equipment has been developed from an earlier system used for flow-weighing with agricultural machinery and can either provide a digital read out of individual axle weights or give a print-out with automatic tallying.
Its platform, which is 3m (118in) long and weighs 254kg (5cwt), uses four fully sealed load cells of all-welded construction to the firm's own design. The control box with its microprocessor uses a 240-volt power supply and the entire system is transportable. When used with the standard digital display, the system costs £2,950 while the added print-out device increases this to £3,850. For a further £200 a red/green traffic light system can be incorporated for use in the dark.
