Griffith Elder takes a weight off with easy-install beams
WEIGHING EQUIPMENT manufacturer Griffith Elder has developed new portable weigh beams for tipper, bulker or waste operators working out of remote locations who need an accurate method of check-weighing their trucks before they hit the road.
The 5.8m-long beams replace the previous full-plate TonTel portable weighbridge, which, while popular, is "heavy and cumbersome to move". The new Weigh Beams are lighter and easier to install.
The Portable Weigh Beams use GE's Split-Weigh digital system, which delivers a high level of accuracy. According to GE boss David Elder: "We did extensive tests at a road stone quarry in Australia and the difference in accuracy between the Split-Weigh system and using a full-size weighbridge was negligible."
