• South Yorkshire Transport has placed a £1 million order with Philips for its Band III radio communications system after successful tests.
It will be used to control SYT buses in Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield and will sound the alarm if a driver is attacked. All three areas will be equipped with Philips BCX300 Band III radios built to the Bus & Coach Council's specification.
