H I-TECH REVERSING AID • Sonic Tape has launched "ReverseAid" — a high-tech sensor system which emits ultrasonic beams from the rear of a vehicle.
The beams are reflected back from any obstacle, giving the driver advanced notice of any danger by an alarm in the cab. Sonic Tape says the product has come through extensive tests with flying colours and is offering an initial package of four systems for 21,000.

TOUGH TEMPERATURES RECORDER • Nottingham guage manufacturer Sydney Smith Dennis has launched a 13.4cm (six-inch) temperature recorder specifically designed to meet the needs of the refrigerated transport industry.
It features a detachable capillary which can be quickly replaced without taking the re
corder out of the vehicle. The guage can operate in the ranges —30°C to +20°C, —50°C to 0°C, and 0°C to +50°C, and retails for around 1-250.
