Cabotage claims • British operators took around 5% of the cabotage market in the first six months of the trial scheme which was launched in July 1990.
French fleet • International operator Aston Clinton Haulage of Aylesbury has been acquired by French transport group Norbert Dentressangle following an approach by ACH management. ACH's 38 tractors and 60 trailers join a fleet of 2,200.
Channel delay • French Customs clearance agents are threatening strike action on 27 January in protest against job losses caused by the completion of the Single Market in 1993.
RHA increase • The Road Haulage Association Metropolitan and South East region has settled its wages claim with a £6 flat rate increase: five out of nine regions have still to settle.
