POM Britax Ltd., comes news that the range of Span-Set Terylene lashings— only introduced last year—has been extended to include the Model RE two-part lashing system for general use on commercial vehicles and the Model QA designed for securing fragile goods in transit.
The maximum tension of the lashings has been increased from around 5,000 lb. to 6,600 lb. and the range now covers tensions from 450 lb. The lashings are claimed to be resistant to fuel and to be unaffected by weather conditions. The tension rating of the lashings is determined by the width of the material and the lever size. A coupling link or second lever is incorporated in the lashing normally at a point diagonally opposite to the first lever.
Similar to the RE, the QA system is based on thinner relatively wide webbing and the use of lower tensions so that fragile goods are in "softer contact" with a wider area. Made by: Britax (London) Ltd., Chertsey Road, Byfleet, Surrey.
