Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AStream-line Filters Ltd., Henley Park,

Normandy, near Guildford. Surrey. marketed an Oxycatalyst which purified diesel fumes. Unfortunately it is no longer available from them, but you can apply to the makers, Pan American Chemical Inc., 17-19 Boulevard Henri IV, Paris 4.

Apart from fitting a filter, adequate maintenance may end the bother. A diesel-engine compressor, by virtue of the air/fuel ratio, should not emit fumes in large volume unless the vehicle requires mechanical attention. We suggest, therefore, that before buying any device, the injectors and fuel pump of the compressor are checked. The air cleaner should also be checked because, if the cleaner is over-filled, this could result in excessive smoke from the exhaust.
