• The East Midland Traffic Commissioners have granted licences to allow the Lincolnshire Road Car Co Ltd to run additional and revised bus services when British Railways withdraw the GrimsbyPeterborough, Firsby-Skegness and FirsbyLincoln via Woodhall, Willoughby and Mablethorpe services on May 4.
Mr C. M. Sheridan, chairman of the Commissioners, said it was not their function to decide whether or not the rail closure proposals were desirable. They were concerned with the question of the suitability of the routes of the bus services proposed and with the needs of the area concerned as a whole in relation to traffic, including the provision of adequate, suitable and efficient bus services and the co-ordination of road and passenger transport.
