• The Lane Group has won 212m worth of business since the end of 1996, including a £5.2m deal with DIY firm Great Mills {Retail)
• The Sewell Distribution Group of Dewbury has clinched a three-year deal with the Xpress Group to distribute wheels and tyres using seven Leyland Daf tractors.
• iibbett & Britten has won two new contracts in the clothing and footwear sectors. The first is a £1.5m, three-year deal to provide retailer Cobra Sports with central warehousing and distribution handled by Fashion Logistics, which has also started a three-year contract with de Baer Corporate Clothing • Securicor Omega Logistics has won a £20m contract as UK logistics provider for jam maker Chivers Hartley • Ryder has streamlined its volume purchasing policy with three preferred truck suppliers and three bodybuilders. It will spend £23m with Leyland Daf Mercedes and Scanio this year to buy 860 vehicles.
• The Exeter depot of express parcels carrier ANC has won a one-year contract with tool and machinery distributor Axminster Power Tool Centre The deal accounts for around 1,000 consignments a week.
• P8,0 Roacltanks has extended its three-year contract with BP Bitumen for a further three years. The contract has also increased in volume and is worth an extra £4m a year. P&O Roadtanks will be providing up to 50 vehicles and drivers.
