UK-spec Magnum. Colin Bameft reports.
RENAULT HAS UNVEILED the UK spec of its new Magnum, ahead of the launch at the NEC show in April.
The Multipass Solo interior is the standardoffering; it features a table and two chairs, a fridge, swiv elling passenger seat and fixed high-level bunk. Mechanically, Optidriver II, incorporating Optibrake and Optifuel, will be standard, although the manual ZF 16S 221 transmission will be available as a reduced-cost option.
Among the new features is 'air product management control', which electronically manages the compressor operation, reducing its load on the engine and allowing the use of one less air tank. Other base equipment includes hill hold, 295/80 tyres. a 610-litre fuel tank, air-con and fridge, central locking with selectable personal security function and side skirts.
The new Magnum will appear with an undisclosed launch offer at the show. It will then be priced £2,500 higher than the current model, while the rest of the Renault Trucks range will rise by 2% to offset more expensive raw materials, especially steel.
