Scepticism was evident when we initially cast eyes on it in the flesh but driving extensively on and off-road it became evident that lsuzu has done its homework, ironing out most of the traditional pickup shortcomings. On the blacktop it feels composed and refined, displaying manners that are more akin to a purpose-built road vehicle than a highly sprung 4x4.
Off-road it can climb over and through most objects, thanks to a refined yet powerful 3.0-litre engine that keeps the plot moving swiftly at all times.
Bringing it back down to earth cabin styling leaves a little bit to be desired—if this is the level of trim that the 'Denver' moniker brings the basic model is lucky to get a roof. But this does not detract greatly from the overall package.
In twin-cab guise the „ Rodeo is a versatile mix of load-carrier, people mover and off-road machine.
