The three excellent models staged by this well-established North of England concern gave, upon inspection, strong evidence that an exceptional amount of care in design and construction must obtain throughout the Huddersfield works, As is to be seen, the company constructs both the over-type and the bonneted type of ma-chine. The exhibit on this stand which will impress visi tors most is the 22-seated streamline torpedo charea-bants, the chassis being specially designed for pas
sengcr transport. It is fitted with a 45 h.p. vertical engine, the final drive being transmitted through Coventry silent chains. The sus
pension has received special attention to ensure comfort, the rear spring centres being no less than 3 ft. Shock absorbera and spring torque rods are also a feature. The second exhibit consists of a 2-ton model having a 80-35 h.p. vertical engine fitted, constructed to suit War Office requirements, the final drive on this model being tlirough Coventry roller chains. A smart-looking box-van body is fitted, the equipment being a repeat order from Crawford's, the well-known biscuit manufacturer.
'The remaining exhibit is the company's five-ton over-type chassis, on which the power unit is a 40-45 lap. vertical engine. The final drive on this model is by means of Coventry
roller chains. Cast steel road wheels are fitted, as on the other exhibits. The tire sizes on the fiveton ner are : front, singles 900 mm. by 120 rum., and twin rears 1050 mm. by 140 mm.
