THE study group set up by the Road I Haulage Association to investigate the implementation of last year's principal Conference resolution on co-operation among members had its first meeting in London on Wednesday. The group is composed of one representative from each R.H.A. area and one from each functional group.
On Wednesday the group elected Mr. N. R. Wynn (the S. Wales representative) as chairman and Mr. J. A. B. Stimpson (from the Eastern area) as vicechairman.
The group's first task will be to examine the working of existing co-operative groups of REA, members—as exemplified by tipper and general-haulage groups, where inter-working is already becoming more common.
