A MODEL of the E.R.F. LV cab to Pl. suit chassis with forward-set axles has now been introduced. Under the proposed new weights and dimensions regulations, say E.R.F. Ltd., the present set-back axle position on E.R.F. tractive units would require articulated outfits to have an overall length greater than would be necessary with -a forward axle position.
Until now it has not been possible to fit the LV cab onto vehicles with forward axle position; in order that all vehicles in the range may have the modern LV appearance a 2LV cab has been introduced for tractive units built to the new regulations and for those vehicles—like in-transit concrete mixers--whose normal operation would overload set-back front axles.
The new cab has the appearance of the LV but instead of an entry step forward of the road wheel and a full-depth door, entry is now over the wheel, with a short door.
