A DRIVER who was hurt when two 1-11orries crashed is claiming £l0.000 from Cusick Transport, Ltd., Baltic Street, Glasgow. A jury trial was ordered last week when Alexander Gibson, of McLachlan . Street, Stenhousemuir, claimed that his lorry was struck by a lorry, and trailer belonging to Cusick Transport.
As a result, he said, he sustained a
• fracture of the right arm, a dislocation of the right .hip, a fractured pelvis and other injuries. Gibson maintained that at the time of the accident Cusick's lorry and trailer were being driven on the wrong side of the road, and that the employers arc responsible for their driver's actions.
Cusick Transport deny liability and claim that their driver was driving carefully and at a slow speed. The collision, they say, happened as a result of a skid caused by the extremely slippery snow and ice surface. There was no way in which their driver could have avoided the accident.

Mr. Ivo Townsend told Mr: Arthur Nicol. managing director, that the operating of one of his firm's A-licence vehicles outside the user was " on the serious side."
Mr. Nicol said be acquired the licence for the vehicle about two years ago to carry timber in Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire, but the carriage of timber had fallen off and the vehicle had been used for other work.
He said he had not been aware of the mistake as there had been a dispute in the change of name after the vehicle was incorporated in his fleet when he took over from Strichen Motors two years ago. The suspension will take effect from April I.
