• National Bus Company has confirmed the sale of North Western Road Car of Bootle, Merseyside to Drawlane, the Salisbury-based operator whose financial standing has previously been questioned by the TGWU.
North Western provides local bus and mini-bus services throughout Merseyside and the Sefton district of Lancashire. The company employs 870 staff at depots in Aintree, Bootle, central Liverpool, Skelmersdale and Wigan, and has a total fleet of about 340 vehicles. Drawlane intends to run the company as a fullyautonomous subsidiary, allowing North Western to retain its present name and livery.
