DHL EXEL HAS WON a LIOm contract renewal to operate the Heathrow Consolidation Centre (HCC) for the next three years.
The HCC was set up in 2001; it says it has dramatically reduced congestion at the airport by cutting the number of deliveries required to service the retailers operating there. DHL Exel is also introducing a 9.0-tonne electric delivery vehicle.
Paul Richardson, managing director of the DHL Exel division which runs the centre, says; "At a time when reducing vehicle emissions is a key objective of airports globally, it is increasingly important to provide our customer. BAA, with new initiatives that reduce environmental impact."
